Code of Conduct

It’s a Match! For Art Lovers does not see itself as a dating exchange, but as a platform for analogue and digital encounters between people interested in culture who would like to exchange ideas about art and life. The focus of the exchange formats offered is on the performing arts (dance, theatre, performance). So far we are only active in Berlin. It’s a Match! For Art Lovers offers special events aimed at people who are open to new relationships of all kinds – from accompanying people to cultural events, as a tandem for foreign language learning, to other forms of social networking, friendship and partnership.

Community rules

We value a friendly, open and approachable way of dealing with each other in the It’s a Match! community. This also includes valuing the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities. All members accept the community rules by registering and participating in events. Membership in It’s a Match! requires a willingness to treat each other with humanity. This means that every member should respect the beliefs, interests and property of others.

In the diverse It’s a Match! community, different positions and views are held. However, there are political-ideological orientations that are not compatible with our community:

Right-wing populist or radical right-wing positions, racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, sexism and misogyny are not compatible.

Also incompatible with the community are homophobia or biphobia, discrimination against people with a non-binary gender or trans identity.

We strictly reject rude or offensive behaviour. In addition, we encourage all our members to report anyone who does not adhere to these behavioural guidelines.

Be yourself

Member profiles should be authentic so that we can get to know real people. All members should be open and honest about their identities, intentions and affiliations. Creating fake accounts, accounts with malicious intent, and accounts intended to impersonate others are prohibited.

Be respectful

Respecting members’ time, attention, personal preferences and personal boundaries is essential for creating safe and trustworthy communities. Be respectful in dealing with members and with the content posted on the platform! It’s a match! restricts behaviour that is dishonest, undermines the integrity of the platform, violates personal boundaries or is used to deliberately upset people.

Content sent to a member that is irrelevant, impersonal, unsolicited, contains advertising or is repetitive is considered spam.

Respect requests for distance

Members must accept and respect all decisions made by the organiser of the exchange formats and the administrator of the platform regarding the exclusion of a member or the decision of another member to block him/her for contacting. The creation of new accounts to circumvent existing blocks or exclusions is prohibited.

Sexual content and pornography

Pornography is not allowed. Publicly shared photos must be appropriate for a general audience. Nude or sex photos are not allowed.

Asking for permission: Consent

It’s a Match! defines consent as welcome communications and actions to interact with a member. It is forbidden to contact someone in a non-consensual manner. If in doubt, please ask permission! Posting other people’s private information without their express permission is prohibited.

Be kind

Bullying, harassment, insults, abuse and acts of hate undermine the establishment of safe communities where people can trust each other. Building real relationships requires us to be more respectful and kind to each other. It’s a Match! will take strong action against behaviour that is threatening, malicious or personally hurtful – physically, emotionally or mentally.

Act safely

All members should always be mindful of their personal safety and never put themselves or others in danger. We expect all members to comply with local laws and regulations.

Intellectual property

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. Posting that infringes the intellectual property rights of others is prohibited.
