“we will be removed” von Johannes Wieland
Droht unsere Menschlichkeit wegen der Faszination für Geschwindigkeit, wegen der Angst vor Stillstand aus der Kurve zu fliegen? fragt Choreograf Johannes Wieland in seiner Performance “we will be removed”, die im Rahmen des b12 Festivals im Dock 11 präsentiert wird. Gemeinsam mit dem 6-köpigen diversen Tanzensemble entwirft er eine kraftvolle Antiheld*innenstory über Tempo, Terror und Transit.
Geboren in Berlin absolvierte Johannes Wieland seinen BA an der Universität der Künste in Amsterdam und arbeitete darauf viele Jahre in verschiedenen Kompanien mit zahlreichen Choreograf*innen. Nach seinem Engagement beim Béjart Ballet Lausanne zog er nach New York, wo er seinen MA in zeitgenössischem Tanz und Choreografie erhielt. Er gründete die Kompanie Johannes Wieland und baute 15 Jahre als künstlerischer Leiter die Tanzkompanie am Staatstheater Kassel auf. Johannes ist Kurator von b12 – dem Festival für zeitgenössischen Tanz und Performance Art (www.b12.space), das jährlich in Berlin stattfindet.

Is our humanity in danger of flying off the rails because of our fascination with speed, because of our fear of standing still? asks choreographer Johannes Wieland in his performance “we will be removed”, which is presented at Dock 11 as part of the b12 Festival. Together with the 6-member diverse dance ensemble, he creates a powerful anti-heroine story about speed, terror and transit.
Born in Berlin, Johannes Wieland completed his BA at the University of the Arts in Amsterdam and then worked for many years in various companies with numerous choreographers. After his engagement with the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, he moved to New York where he received his MA in contemporary dance and choreography. He founded the company Johannes Wieland and built up the dance company at the Staatstheater Kassel as artistic director for 15 years. Johannes is the curator of b12 – the festival for contemporary dance and performance art (www.b12.space), which takes place annually in Berlin.
