It’s a match! aims to encourage attendance at performing arts performances and to promote exchange between audience members about art and life through playful methods.

The offer consists of discussion formats with a focus on different interest groups that can meet live in the foyer of Berlin’s independent venues:

Singles & Theatre Lovers, Language & Art Lovers and the special format It sparks! for outdoor fans.

The pieces are selected by curator and cultural manager Katharina von Wilcke. They are usually movement-based productions from the fields of contemporary dance, physical theatre and performance that can be understood without prior knowledge of the language.

After the performances, the audience can discuss the play. The card game “It’s a match! For Art Lovers”, which was specially developed for this purpose. It contains 74 questions in German, English, Spanish and Portuguese about what was seen, art, communication, relationships and other topics. 30 questions are formulated as simple language, suitable for people with low foreign language levels or learning difficulties.
